Ramblings from a Confused Man by ~AuronTheUnsent:iconAuronTheUnsent:

Do any of us ever grow up?  We get older, leave our parents' home (For the most part), and sift through the daily life routine we establish.  But have we ever stopped being children?  After we get kicked out of the nest, we like to think we've shed the rules our parents once held us to, and are free to live our own lives how we want.  I feel this is not quite the case.

In the end, we still live by someone else's regulations.  As the years grow long, the consequences of breaking the rules, or failing to meet your requirements gets much more severe.  As a youth, veering from your upcoming would be met with what at the time seems to be a large part of your life being restricted; Maybe even taken away from you.

When faced with the passing of time, we find not only our best interests and greedy impulses at stake, but our very shot at living.  The bread on our table does not come cheap.  Sometimes, we feel as if we can't do a thing, and we even lose the table upon which are plate used to sit, our cup stolen, and the silverware sold for the food that you utilize them for.

Still even under such circumstances, we find ourselves always moving to someone else's beat.  The conductor sets the rhythm and we follow the sheet music.  We usually can't see the audience in the darkened auditorium, and the price of admission into the concert?  Passed under the table to people who conduct by the composers' score.

But who rules over the composer?  Someone has to, because no one is free from other rules.  Who set this circle flowing?  When was it started?

Most importantly, how do I break free from this prison?

I just can't help feeling like a child in an adult world...

...We're all just children to someone else, and we can always be punished or used accordingly.
